All team members listed here are "Global Mentors" to assist students in their quest for the MHS Global Scholar Certificate. Students will be assigned a "Global Mentor" after signing up.
Mrs. Brenton
Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Brenton is a school counselor working individually with students and in small groups to help support their goals, to assist in student learning, emotional social support and lifelong learning into post secondary plans. Mrs. Brenton loves to travel, see different parts of the world and is excited to help out as a Global Mentor working to help reach students earn the Global Certificate.
Mrs. Dominguez
Paraprofessional
Mrs. Dominguez is a paraprofessional working at the high school assisting students and teachers within the special education program. In addition to helping students in the classroom Mrs. Dominguez is volunteering to mentor students in the global certificate program and enjoys helping them work through their goals and share discussions about their experiences as well as her own experiences living in Mexico and raising her family here in Mukwonago.
Mrs. Fairburn
Math Teacher
Mrs. Fairburn teaches Math at the high school and is passionate about working with students in small groups and one on one to help them accomplish their goals. Mrs. Fairburn is excited to work with our Global Scholar students and bring in some of her experiences growing up and learning in Canada before moving south to join us here in Wisconsin.
Mr. Haasser
Math Teacher
Mr. Haasser teaches Math and is excited about helping mentor students throughout the Global Certificate Program. Mr. Haasser enjoys travel and learning about people from various cultures and parts of the world and looks forward to working with students expand their own knowledge and experiences in our globalized world.
Sr. Huelsman
Spanish Teacher
More commonly known as Señior Huelsman or Don Huelsman, he teaches Spanish levels I and V. Sr. Huelsman has taken students into urban and rural areas of Mexico and spent a year on sabbatical enhancing Mukwonago's curriculum through living and working in schools in Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Cuba.
Mr. Lambrecht
World History Teacher
Mr. Lambrecht is a World History teacher at Mukwonago who has various global experiences that are simply too many to list. However, through his experiences Mr. Lambrecht has helped MHS Global Scholars skype with a National Geographic cameraman in India and helps sponsor a health clinic in Nicaragua. Mr. Lambrecht enjoys sharing his experiences and helping students gain a better understanding of the world around them.
Mrs. Linski
Social Studies Teacher
Mrs Linski currently teaches US History, Economics and AP Macroeconomics. As a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps band she has a history of working with the government to honor foreign dignitaries & diplomats. Her love of social studies and connecting with the world has brought her to our team to help students see the world beyond the United States.
Mr. Montanye
Social Studies Teacher
Mr. Montanye is currently serving as the team leader for the global mentors. Hower as a mentor and teacher he loves sharing his passion for travel and sharing his experiences traveling since a child with his first international trip to Scotland as a Freshman in high school. Along with his travels as a college student on mission trips to South Africa, Mexico and areas within the United States, he has continued travelling with his family through Central America and hopes to visit all seven continents in his lifetime.
Mrs. O'Brien
English Teacher
Mrs. O'Brien has traveled to 13 countries on 4 continents. She enjoys the full cultural experience on these trips, including art, architecture, geography, food, and entertainment. As an English teacher, she also loves to read novels set in other countries. She joined Global Scholar in order to share this passion with students.
Mrs. Patenaude
Family & Consumer Ed. Teacher
Mrs. Patenaude is our foods teacher at MHS and teacher for the Global Foods course that counts toward the global scholars program. Her love for food, travel and service has taken her to India and Mukwonago where she shares her passion with students every day.
Mrs. Pett
Family & Consumer Ed. Teacher
Mrs. Pett teaches cullinary for us at MHS and has a diverse background that involves teaching, working in professional kitchens and interactions with a variety of cultures and people. Her interests will be taking her to Uganda to work in a village regarding food security and clean water access. She is passionate about real world education and wants to help students experience and understand the world beyond the United States.
Mrs. Schalow
Family & Consumer Ed. Teacher
Mrs. Schalow is our strong representative from the FACE department. She has traveled to Mexico and loves the opportunity to expand her own cultural understandings. She loves learning and discussing cultural differences, especially in the areas of fashion design as well as the arts.
