Congratulations to Mukwonago's newest class of Global Scholars. Pictured are our newest group of graduates who earned the Global Certificate. Pictured from left to right are: Jessica Pedersen, Ana Gonzales (Spain), Cole Lewis, Nurana Aliyeva(Azerbaijan), Micah Wirsching, Hannah Estes and Khean Knoernschild. Not pictured is Baktygul Tazhmamatova (Kyrgyzstan) who also earned the certificate.

This year was the first year we had interested exchange students who wanted to participate and earn the certificate so we modified the program to be appropriate for their time at Mukwonago. We also had great support from the local Kiwanis Foundation who created a one time scholarship for a global scholar. Hannah Estes was the recipient of that scholarship and we are very happy to have the support of the Mukwonago Kiwanis Foundation.

2019 Global Scholar Grads

Students who earned the certificate received the Global Education Achievement Certificate as issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, recognition on their official high school transcripts, a light blue chord for graduation and a travel journal. The light blue chord is representative of internationalism and was chosen to be the same color as the flag for the United Nations. The travel journal is a hand made journal made with real leather from Haiti Made, an organization investing in entrepreneurial opportunities in Haiti to help create economic independence for families. An image of the travel journal is pictured below. The stamp was designed by Mukwonago Students and modified with the help of Mr. Rutowski's Graphic Design class.
