The Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition is starting a program this spring to help children from Afghanistan connect with their new community and learn about American Culture. The program will pair Afghan children up with a partner from the Milwaukee area (no reason Mukwonago can't be part of that area) on a monthly basis to help transition to life in the United States. Volunteers will be paired up with an Afghan peer of the same age and will meet to complete crafts, read together and simply talk and get to know one another.

Those interested in volunteering are making a commitment to meet with their Afghan buddy once every month on a Saturday and will meet with them for three hours each time. For any Mukwonago Global Scholar students interested this can count for your global service requirement, however transportation is not provided. This opportunity is provided by the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition so it is not a Mukwonago schools activity, however anyone who participates and is part of the Global Scholars program, this commitment will count for their global service requirement. Below is a statement of information and contact if interested.
